It will be close to the end of the year before a review of the county’s speed limits will next be considered by Clare Councillors.
The process to review speed limits along Clare’s National Secondary Routes began in 2016, and has twice been discussed by elected representatives.
However, they have failed to pass it on both occasions due to concerns in that planned limits are not suitable for some locations such as Quilty and Corkscrew Hill.
Repeated calls have been made on Transport Infrastructure Ireland to engage with the Council with a view to ironing out the problems, and further discussions will be held amongst Councillors before it’s next considered, likely in October.
