Clare County Council is confident that Daniel O'Connell is not leaning after all.
Concern has been expressed about apparent damage to the iconic monument at The Height in Ennis, and this morning the Council has carried out an inspection of the statue.

Lifting equipment was used to help take close-up photographs of O'Connell's face, and these will now be examined.
However, Conservation Officer Dick Cronin says he’s already satisfied that fears the monument could be leaning are not correct.
