O’Brien hits back at criticism of legal action against Dail committee

Denis O'Brien has hit back at The Irish Times over the paper's criticism of his legal action against the Dail's Committee on Procedure and Priveleges.

In a letter in today's paper, the businessman took issue with this week's Irish Times editorial which criticised him for – as he put it –  "seeking vindication".

Mr O'Brien is suing members of the committee for ruling that Deputy Catherine Murphy did not breach Dail privelege when she revealed alleged details of the billionaire's banking affairs.

The Irish Times this week described the move as "dangerous".

But in his letter Mr O'Brien says he's a "citizen" about whom "falsehoods" were uttered in the Dail.
