The US President Barack Obama has warned the United Nations of the risks of failing to work together to solve world problems.

Barack Obama has told member states that their job is still not done – seven decades after the UN was founded.
Addressing the General Assembly, Mr Obama warned "dangerous currents risk pulling us back into a darker, more disordered world."
But he praised the progress that has been made so far.
