A Kilrush native nurse has spoken of how he has become one of the first cohort of people in the world to receive the COVID-19 vaccine.
Gerry Eustace, who is working in a hospital in Queens, New York, has told Clare FM that he has experienced no side-effects receiving after the injection last Friday.
He’ll receive a second dose in the New Year.
The first vaccinations in Ireland will take place within a week.
Gerry had volunteered on to work on a COVID ward during the first wave of the virus .
