The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has announced a lunchtime protest for this Friday, and say staffing levels there are totally inadequate.
They also say there is a "significant clinical skills deficit" at the hospital, with junior midwives taking on the roles of more senior colleagues.
The HSE is looking to recruit up to 25 midwives, but the INMO fears this won't address the problems at the MidWest's maternity hospital.
