Nurses claim chronic overcrowding coupled with rising covid cases are having a significantly negative impact on their ability to provide timely and safe care.
It comes as the latest INMO figures show University Hospital Limerick is the most overcrowded in the country once again, with 91 patients waiting for beds there this morning, 56 of those in the ED.

The overall figure is more than three dozen higher than the next busiest facility; Galway University Hospital.
Meanwhile, over 1,000 people are being treated in hospitals across the country today for covid-19, 67 of those at UHL; a rise of 15 on Friday’s figure.
