A planned strike by members of the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation on Thursday has been called off – to allow the measures go to a vote.
The new proposals include weekly meetings between hospital CEO's and nursing representatives to discuss overcrowded Emergency Departments.
The INMO has warned however – if the measures agreed are NOT put in place – strikes will be back on the table.
