Nurses Say Failure To Manage Patient Numbers Behind Rise In Overcrowding At Region’s Hospital

Nurses says the high level of overcrowding at the region's main hospital is down to a failure to properly manage patient numbers. 

Trolley numbers at University Hospital Limerick have been the highest in the country for the past three days, hitting 42 on Wednesday.

There was a dip in that number to 34 yesterday, however that was still much higher than the country's other hospitals.

The INMO's Midwest representative, Mary Fogarty claims the HSE is failing to implement its own protocols.
