Nurses and Midwives say the aftershock of the HSE’s recruitment embargo continues to heavily impact overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick.
Although the controversial cost saving measure was lifted in July, the INMO is set to ballot its members for industrial action as 2,000 nursing and midwifery posts remain unfilled nationwide.
The ban was in place for nine months and applied to all grades of nurses and doctors, with only consultants and Emergency Department staff exempt.
