Nurses Highlight “Extreme Overcrowding” At UHL

The INMO says there is “extreme” overcrowding at University Hospital Limerick today.

There were 81 patients waiting for a bed at the region’s main hospital this morning, 59 of them in the hospital’s Emergency Department.

The nursing representatives organisation say that even though over 100 new beds have been opened at UHL in the past year, there are still “serious problems” in getting enough staff to care for patients, and that their members are “exhausted and frustrated.”
