Nurses have given health officials a week to come up with a plan to avert an all out strike in our hospitals.

Their union the INMO met with the HSE and government last night, but they're still looking for a way to ease the pressure as the trolley crisis continues.

The numbers waiting on makeshift beds surpassed 500 for the past three days in a row.
