Nurses Call For National Intervention Over High Trolley Numbers At UHL

Hospital trolleys

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is calling for national intervention, following high levels of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital this week.

The latest INMO figures show 42 patients have been left waiting on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 22 of those in the Emergency Department.

It represents over 57% of all of those on trolleys at hospitals across the country.

INMO Midwest Representative, Mary Fogarty has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill that the high levels of overcrowding is leading to dangerous conditions for staff and patients.
