The number of women who accessed abortion services in Clare last year increased by 10, despite numbers nationally decreasing due to the impact of the pandemic.
A total of 83 abortions were carried out in this county in 2020, an increase on the 73 recorded the year prior.

It comes as national figures decreased last year due to the impact of the multiple lockdowns imposed due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
6,577 abortions took in place in Ireland in 2020 and Eilís Mulroy of the Pro Life Campaign believes the public were misled in terms of the numbers that would access the service upon it becoming legal here.
