Fewer homes were built in Clare in the second three months of 2026 than in the same period last year.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office also reveal however that completions rose by almost 20% from April to June compared to the previous quarter.
A total of 178 new dwellings were completed in Clare in the second three-month stretch of 2026.
This was down 5% on the same period of 2025 but up 18% on the previous quarter.
Of the homes built between April and June, 93 were scheme houses while 68 were single units and 17 were apartments.
The Shannon local electoral area accounted for 30% of dwellings completed during this period, with the Ennistymon region making up 22%.
A further 19% were in the Ennis area, while 16% were in Kilrush or its surrounds, and just 12% were in the vicinity of Killaloe.
