Number Of Help To Buy Applicants Approved In Clare Fell By 40% Last Year

The number of applicants approved under the Help to Buy scheme fell by more than 40 percent last year.

Figures released to the Oireachtas show there were 94 approvals under the scheme in this county in 2022, compared to 166 the year prior.

The incentive provides a refund of Income Tax and Deposit Interest Retention Tax paid to the State over the previous four years.

The number of approved applicants fell by just 12 percent on a national basis in the same timeframe.
