The number of covid patients at the region’s main hospital has been slowly reducing over the past week.
The latest report from the HSE show there were 47 positive cases among patients this morning, down from 58 this day last week.

The numbers receiving treatment in the ICU has risen by one, however, over that period.
It comes as the World Health Organisation has said that the Covid variant currently circulating in Ireland ‘dodges’ the protection of vaccines.
