The National Transport Authority has unveiled its plans to improve bus services in West Clare.
The proposals involve improving the frequency of existing routes as well as the creation of a new route in the interest of providing a more reliable public transport in the region.
The NTA says it intends to increase the frequency of the main 350 route to every 90 to 120 minutes as well as introducing new evening services.
To ensure the reliability of the service and allowing for local traffic issues, it plans to re-align the service to operate between Lisdoonvarna and Ballyvaughan via the N67.
The 333 route, which currently operates between Ennis and Kilkee via Doonbeg, will be re-routed to go from Ennistymon to Ennis via Inagh instead of through Corofin and Kilfenora as is currently the case.
The plans also involve the creation of a new service to be known as Route 338 which will traverse Ennistymon, Lisdoonvarna, Kilfenora and Corofin en route to Ennis.
To allow for the changes to Route 350, Route 350C will operate along the R477 through Fanore and onto Kinvara thus connecting with Ballyvaughan, New Quay and Nogra.
Public consultation on the proposals is now open and will run for four weeks, closing on the February 6th, and submissions can be made at consult.nationaltransport.ie.
