Clare’s Fianna Fail Senator says it is wrong that students nurses are not being paid for their work in hospitals.
The government has come under further criticism for its decision to reject a motion calling for students nurses to be paid, after the cabinet yesterday approved 2 per cent pay increase for members of the judiciary and opposition party whips.
Over 70 thousand people have now signed an INMO petition which calls on the Health Minister to end what it describes as the ‘exploitation’ of student nurses and midwives.
