The HSE and Clare County Council say a Do Not Consume Notice has been issued for members of the Cappa Rossmanagher Group Water Scheme until further notice.
It’s believed discolouration of water in the area has been caused by managanese in the supply.
In a statement this evening, the local authority is advising not to drink, prepare food with or brush teeth with the water in the scheme.
Tankers are to be made available at Clare County Council Waste Water Treatment Plant, Sixmilebridge, and Crowe’s Shop, Minister’s Cross.
