Clare County Council has been called on to take charge of the public defibrillators around Ennis, to ensure they’re kept in working order.
There are currently four of the life-saving devices around the county town which were put in place by a community group that no longer exists.

The executive of Ennis Municipal District is to speak with both the HSE and the Civil Defence to examine what the best approach will be going forward.
Independent Ennis Councillor Ann Norton proposed the motion and says there’s a real risk that if nobody is in charge, they won’t work when the time comes that they’re needed.
