A well-known campaigner for children with special needs is to enter the election race in Clare.
Ann Norton – who manages the Clare Crusaders Children’s Clinic in Barefield is planning to run for election to Clare County Council as an Independent candidate in the Ennis area and will formally launch her campaign tonight.
A reflexologist and mother of three, Ann was named Clare Person of the year in 2013, and is hoping to further the cause of people with disabilities and families coping with special needs through local politics.
Meanwhile, two election candidates fighting water charges and property tax policies will launch their campaigns in Shannon tonight.
Seónaidh Ní Shíomóin and David Houlihan will outline their election plans at a public meeting in the Oakwood Arms in Shannon at 8pm.
