North Clare Postmaster Says Subvention Measures Could Allay Fears Of Widespread Closures

A North Clare postmaster says a potential Government subvention for the post office network could allay fears of potential widespread closures across the country.

It’s understood the State’s preparing to pay post offices up to €1,000 a month to keep them open, in what would be the first time such a support package has been offered.

An 8.5 million euro support package postmasters which was delivered last July is to run out at the end of this year.
