North Clare looks set to benefit from a housing boost.
It comes as planning permission has been granted for a new development in Inagh.
In December, Patrick Hehir lodged an application to construct 21 homes on a one hectare site in the Carrowkeel area.
The breakdown of properties included a mix of three-bed and four-bed properties, with 54 parking spaces for residents and guests.
The Kilmaley-Inagh Group Water Scheme has accepted the developer’s request for connection to its water supply, while Uisce Éireann has confirmed the development can proceed without upgrading wastewater infrastructure.
Clare County Council ultimately granted permission for the project subject to 21 conditions.
Among the terms of the planning permission is that the homes must be used as principal private residences and cannot be used for short-term lets or overnight commercial accommodation.
