North Clare Guidance Counsellor Believes Grade Inflation Will ‘Settle’ Next Year

A North Clare guidance counsellor believes grade inflation caused due to issues relating to the pandemic will ‘settle’ in the next academic year.

It comes ahead of the deadline for applications to the CAO for entry to all first-year courses, which is tomorrow at 5pm.

Grades were adjusted upwards in 2022 to meet 2021’s record-high results, with some subjects seeing the number of students receiving the maximum H1 grade trebling in the last number of years.
