A North Clare Councillor is calling for the ‘entire county’ to see a benefit from a Government funding stream to be allocated to area based on its numbers of Ukrainian refugees and international protection applicants.
Proposals for a 50 million euro community support fund have been brought to the Cabinet subcommittee on Ukraine.
Community groups and associations will be able to apply for funding to help with the integration process, although larger amounts will be available in places with the largest number of new arrivals.
Lisdoonvarna-based Fine Gael Councillor Joe Garrihy says it’s important the new State support will be able to align with other funding streams already available.
