North Clare Climate Activist Attending COP 28 Says All Individual Actions Make A Difference

A Clare climate activist is calling on each and every person in this county to recognise the key role they have to play in reducing emissions.

COP 28 gets underway in the United Arab Emirates today, where delegates from 197 nations and the EU will set objectives aimed at limiting global warming to 1.5 degrees celsius per annum.

The Taoiseach and Tanaiste will both attend for parts of it, but US President Joe Biden will not, as a result of the Israel-Hamas conflict.

The event will run until December 12th and items such as Agriculture and renewable energy are set to feature heavily on the agenda.

Theresa O’ Donohue from Lisdoonvarna, who’s attending the summit in Dubai, says choosing local produce is a simple and effective step.
