A new community initiative is being launched in North Clare to try and help its members reduce their energy costs.
The Burren Ecotourism Network is to create the ‘Solar Meitheal’ scheme following consultation with the Clare Community Energy Agency.

It will see the group applying for a Government scheme that provides grants of up to €2,400 for bodies that want to put solar panels on their premises.
Colm Garvey, from the Clare Community Energy Agency says similar initiatives are becoming increasingly popular throughout the county.
