No time limit on divesting Catholic Primary Schools

Minister Quinn is calling on teachers to work with the Department to implement the recommendations of a new report on how religion is taught.

The Forum on Patronage and Pluralism says up to 50 primary schools in 47 areas including Shannon should be divested from the Catholic church – and all other schools should become more diverse in their teachings.

It also says religious artefacts from numerous faiths should be displayed in schools.
