No plans to review Eircode system in Clare

Eircode has said it has no plans to review its system, in spite of a series of complaints throughout Co. Clare.

The new national postcode system came under fire when it was launched last month, as addresses in the likes of Shannon, Killaloe and even Whitegate were listed as being in Limerick, while areas in North Clare are in Galway.

Eircode says this is because their system is based on the existing An Post postal address which links areas with where their post is sorted.

However, the issue is concerning business people throughout the county who are concerned it will be confusing, especially for foreign visitors to Ireland.
