No New COVID-19 Cases In Clare For Seventh Day As National Death Toll Rises By 4

The Health Protection Surveillance Centre has today been informed that a total of 4 people with COVID-19 have died.

It brings to 1,714, the total number of coronavirus related deaths here.

The HPSC has been notified of 16 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Ireland, with the denotification of two cases bringing the total to 25,355.

There have been no new cases recorded in Clare for the seventh day in a row, leaving the total at 369.

It is the second time that Clare has gone a week without any new cases.

Professor Philip Nolan, Chair of the NPHET Irish Epidemiological Modelling Advisory Group, said: “The reproductive number is now estimated to be close to 0.7. It is heartening to see that none of the data suggests that there is a significant increase of transmission of COVID-19 in the community since the commencement of phase 2.”
