The head of the Clare Garda Division has said he’s unable to spare a Garda to direct traffic at one of the county’s most infamous traffic blackspots.

Chief Superintendent John Kerin was responding to a call from Lahinch Councillor Bill Slattery, who wanted the junction to be manned at the busiest times of the tourist season in a bid to ease long-running delays.

Clare County Council has advanced plans to deal with Blake’s Corner in recent years, but after T.I.I. sent their plans back to the drawing board, Councillor Slattery fears it could be years before works are carried out.
