No Evidence Of Radical Extremists In Clare

The Head of the Clare Garda Division insists there’s no evidence that radical extremists have been active in the county.

It follows claims from an Irish convert to Islam, that two of the perpetrators of the London Bridge attacks spent some time living in Clare as well as Limerick, Tipperary and Dublin.

The unidentified woman claimed Rachid Redouane and Kharum Butt lived in this region for a time because rents were cheaper.

Clare’s Chief Superintendent has told Clare FM News that while there was no reason to believe extremists were living in the county, Gardai were very conscious of the risks of radicalisation.
