No clear timeline for restoration of rural GP supports

Clare's Labour TD says no clear timeline has yet been given for the restoration of key supports for rural GP's.

Michael McNamara was speaking at last night's No Doctor No Village Campaign meeting in Corofin which saw 500 public representatives, doctors and members of the public discuss the crisis that faces rural practise in the county.

The meeting heard demands for the rural practise allowance and distance coding to be re-instated within two weeks and not at the conclusion of current talks on a new GP contract.

Deputy McNamara believes there is political will to see the supports restored.
