There’ll be no big screen in Ennis for the All-Ireland Hurling Final Replay.
Despite crowds of 3000 people turning out to view the big match last Sunday, the local Council says there won’t be a repeat event due to changed circumstances for the replay.
They’ve also confirmed that homecoming celebrations for the Clare Under-21s will be put on hold until after the senior final.
With the Clare Under-21s facing Antrim in the All-Ireland Final in Semple Stadium this Saturday many of the Senior Squad are involved in the action, two weeks ahead of their replay with Cork in Croke Park.
So following consultation with the Clare County Board of the GAA, Clare’s local Authorities have announced a joint homecoming event for both All-Ireland teams at the Fairgreen, Ennis on Sunday, September 29th.
The Council has also confirmed there are No plans to repeat the big screen event hosted in Abbey Street Car Park on Sunday last – due to cost, logistical and weather factors.
In a statement to Clare FM, the council adds that reduced ticket prices for the replay at Croke Park should make it more accessible to families to attend the match.
