Nine people have been rescued after their boat ran aground off the coast of Clare.
The alarm was raised shortly before 10 o’clock last night, after the 6.5 metre Rib ran into difficulty in Ballyvaughan Bay, where the boat’s engine and propellor were damaged.

The Galway RNLI were dispatched to the scene and found that all nine crew on board were wearing lifejackets and didn’t need any medical assistance.
The boat was subsequently towed to Parkmore Pier near Kinvara.
