Over nine million euro is being paid out to Clare farmers this week under the ANC Scheme.

The Areas of Natural constraint scheme, which replaces the Disadvantaged Areas Scheme, compensates for the significant hardships faced in farming specifically designated lands.
Just over four thousand farmers in the county are receiving 2,325 euro on average, while the Department of Agriculture has committed to clearing the remaining cases for payment over the coming weeks.
Clare Fine Gael TD Joe Carey is welcoming the announcement.
