A next-generation passenger aircraft is making a brief visit to Shannon today.

An Airbus A350 plane is expected to touch down at the airport at around 11:00 this morning, before leaving late this afternoon.
The A350 will cost an estimated 12 billion euro to develop, and 780 models have been bought by airlines all over the world, including 9 from Aer Lingus.
So far, however, only a handful have been delivered.
