News Of Moneypoint’s Importance In ESB Plans Welcomed

The ESB’s suggestion that Moneypoint can play a key role in Ireland’s electricity grid for years to come has been hailed as important for West Clare.

The company’s Technical Delivery Lead Paul Smith has said the facility will be very much needed in the coming years, particularly as a backup to any potential lack of available wind energy.

Moneypoint is due to end the burning of coal by 2025, and questions have been asked as to what the future holds there.
