Visitors to Ennis market are to get used to a new way of shopping there due to the implementation of the town’s new casual trading bye laws.
The new bye laws have been drawn up in order to make shopping in the market safer and easier to operate, but had been subject to a legal challenge.
However, that has been withdrawn, leading to a number of changes including a new arrangement of stalls, facing towards the footpaths.
The previous set of laws had been in place since 1988 and Ennis Town Clerk Leonard Cleary feels change was necessary.
