Extra staff has been drafted in to deal with a sudden increase in litter at Clare’s top beaches.
An unprecedented rise in visitor numbers to beaches like Kilkee, Lahinch and Spanish Point this week, has led Clare County council to increase resources and install additional temporary bins along beaches.
Environmental Awareness Officer Joan Tarmey, is reminding people to take responsibility for their own rubbish, to avoid on the spot fines.
