The incoming Cathaoirleach of the Shannon Municipal District is calling for similar supports for the area delivered to Ennis under its Designated Activity Company.
Councillors last week signed off on the move to provide a €10 million loan to the Ennis 2040 DAC, to economically and socially develop the county town.
There had been calls from representatives for proposals to be completed for other areas in the county, and it’s understood work is underway to develop plans for the Shannon area.
Incoming Cathaoirleach and Fine Gael Councillor John Crowe, who was among those who signed off on the Ennis move, says similar supports for Shannon are going to be required.
