New Routes For Shannon Airport

Shannon Airport is celebrating one of the most significant weeks of its short time as an independent facility, with over a dozen new services coming on stream.

It includes nine new routes by Ryanair, to cities in France, Germany, Poland, Portugal and Spain, as well as a further new service to Bristol by Aer Lingus Regional.

1.4 million people travelled through Shannon last year, and management are aiming for a 10 per cent increase in 2014.

The new flights were announced by the airlines after the government's abolition of the travel tax, a move which comes into effect today.
