New report shows a quarter of households now jobless

Nearly a quarter of Irish households are now jobless according to a new report out today.

The research from the National Economic and Social Council finds that most people in Ireland have suffered a loss of wealth or income since the economic crash in 2008.

In 38 per cent of Irish households – expenditure now exceeds disposable income, while a quarter are in arrears with bill payments.
