The life and times of one of the country’s most loved singers, comedians and personalities is being honoured in a new radio documentary.
Dublin-born Brendan Grace ran a pub in Killaloe for a time and lived in the area with his family until he tragically lost his battle with cancer in 2019, aged 68.
Best known for his character “bottler”, he also starred as the obnoxious Fr Stack in popular TV show Fr Ted.
In an interview before his passing, however, Brendan Grace spoke of how his career began in Clare with folk group, The Gingermen, at gigs in Scariff and Kilrush.
To mark Brendan Grace’s birthday, “Bottler”, a special documentary produced by Clare FM Programme Director Padraic Flaherty, will be broadcast on the local radio station this Friday morning from 11 o’clock.
