A Clare Senator says he is confident that new protocols will be put in place in the coming months for people applying for refugee status.

It follows the publication of a new Government report which Ennistymon Fine Gael Senator Martin Conway believes has highlighted "unjustifiable delays" in processing asylum applications.
The report recommends an amnesty for asylum seekers who have been in the system for more than five years and an increase in direct provision allowance.
However, Senator Conway feels the system needs to be completely overhauled.
