New Plans To Revitalise “Pulse” Of Loop Head Peninsula

It’s hoped new plans to renovate a West Clare Irish College will allow a beloved community building to stay open all-year round.

When Coláiste Eoghan Uí Chomhraidhe first opened in 1911, there were over 36,700 native speakers in Clare, with most living in the Loop Head Peninsula.

In recent years, the Coláiste has fallen into disrepair and has remain closed, however new plans have now been lodged to re-develop it as a cultural and educational centre with overnight visitor accommodation and a remote working hub.

Board Of Management Chair Dr Síle Ní Choincheannain is hopeful it can be the pulse of the region once again.
