The newly appointed officer of Clare’s Civil Defence is confident of building on the strong legacy of a vital civic service.
Ennis man Steven Hayes, who has been a member for the past 25 years will now take up the mantle after being promoted from the Assistant position.
The voluntary organisation provides medical support at community events and also supports emergency services in major search and rescue operations and extreme weather scenarios.
