Ennis will get a new Mayor this afternoon.
Clarecastle Fine Gael representative Paul Murphy is poised to take over from his party colleague Johnny Flynn, as the first citizen of the county town and the surrounding areas which form part of the Ennis Municipal District.
Meanwhile, first-time Councillor Mark Nestor of Fianna Fáil is expected to take over from Independent Councillor Ann Norton in the role of Deputy Mayor.
