The new Mayor of Clare has enocurage the people of the county to look positively to the future in a bid to overcome our economic difficulties.
East Clare Fianna Fail Councillor Pat Hayes was unanimously elected as Clare’s first citizen at the Annual General Meeting of Clare County Council last evening with PJ Ryan of Sixmilebridge becoming his Deputy Mayor.

In his first public address as Mayor, Councillor Hayes acknowledged the problems of unemployment and emmigration as well as the difficulties faced by many businesses throughout the county in the ongoing recession.
But he pledged Clare County Council’s support for those people and urged everyone to embrace new initiatives, celebrate what’s good in the county and always have hope.
